These lessons are typically 1 or 2 periods long and, in most cases, can be led by a non-technical teacher. Some require computer access but others do not. Any special requirements are outlined in the description.

Design a tiny, multi-purpose stool for a young couple who live in a tiny house. Required: Paper, pencils, colouring pencils.

A time machine has been invented so what does the UI look like? Required: Paper, pencils, colouring pencils.

Sketching small objects

Sketching small objects

This lesson forces pupils to closely study small objects and sketch them in 2D. Required: Paper, pencils and a collection of small objects.

Suggestions: Stationery products such as staplers and punches; pipes and connectors; Duplo or lego bricks; bottles and containers; plastic mouldings; etc.

Desk organiser

Desk organiser: design and model-making

Two-part lesson. Pupils to learn about line bending from a video then design and model a small stationery organiser from A4 paper. Required: Video playback, pencils, rulers, scissors and A4 paper or thin card. Perhaps Sellotape too.

A colouring worksheet where pupils can design minifigs based upon famous people. On the reverse is a larger template for a pupil to design themselves as a minifig.

Design a pair of trainers

A two-part lesson. It starts with a long Netflix video about trainer design. Then, pupils are given a chance to design their own trainers. Required: Internet video playback, Netflix account, paper, pencils, colouring pencils.
